    Zone 1 but quiet. Brilliant for getting places, not for a night out.

    Tourists by day, very quiet by night, and the cheapest council tax anywhere.

    Beautiful, expensive, and oddly empty. Most Londoners would take Islington instead.

  • South Kensington

    Museums, white terraces and Hyde Park. Lovely, and priced accordingly.

  • Victoria and Belgravia

    Everything leaves from here. The streets around the station have got rougher.

    Everyone's first flat south of the river. Great Common, jumpy high street.

  • Islington and Angel

    Upper Street, the canal and Highbury Fields. Pricey, and it depends which end.

  • Hackney and Dalston

    Parks, Overground and Broadway Market. You pay for the postcode, not the floor space.

  • Brixton

    Victoria line terminus, two covered markets, one big venue. Argues about itself constantly.

  • Battersea and Nine Elms

    Half Victorian terraces, half brand new towers. Residents often say Clapham instead.
